What personal information does ANLC collect?

ANLC collects personal information when you provide it to us directly, or through your use of our website, for example:

  • Orders and payments. Transaction, billing and delivery information when you make a purchase or contract for one of our products or services.
  • Your interactions with us. Records of emails, technical questions, problem reports and other contact. If you telephone us, we may record the call for compliance, quality and staff training purposes.
  • Surveys and competitions. Your responses if you take part in a customer survey or enter a competition.
  • Sales contact. Details you share with our sales staff, for example at a trade counter, trade show or on customer premises.

We may also record how you use our website, such as the website you came from or go to, your device ID, IP address and operating system, the ads you click, the products you search for and buy, and the information you download. Our marketing emails may detect whether you opened them or clicked a link. We use this information to measure our performance and to tailor our promotions and advertising to you.

Some information is required to create an account or make a purchase; we tell you which when you sign up or order. If you do not provide it, we may not be able to create your account or fulfil your order. All other information is optional, although without it our marketing may be less relevant and your experience less personalised.

From time to time we also share information with our professional and legal advisors.

  • Sale of the business. If we sell business assets, customer information may be disclosed to a potential buyer. We will make reasonable efforts to ensure the buyer is bound by this policy.

We may also disclose personal information where we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of ANLC, our customers, employees or the public, or where the law otherwise permits us to do so.

Where is my information stored, and for how long?

Some of our service providers are located outside Australia, so your personal information may be processed overseas. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. Contact us if you would like more information about these safeguards.

We keep your personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, so the period depends on your interactions with us. For example, we keep records of your purchases for as long as needed for invoicing, tax and warranty purposes, and correspondence (such as a product complaint) for as long as needed to protect us from a legal claim. See the Cookies section for how long cookies last.

When we no longer need your information, we delete it. If you unsubscribe from our marketing, we keep a record of your email address so that we do not send you marketing in future.

How does ANLC protect my personal information?

Our website has been designed with security in mind. To protect your details whenever you submit them, we use:

  • Encryption technology to protect your data during transactions.
  • Encrypted storage of the information you submit, where possible.
  • Password-protected accounts, so only you can access your account and profile information. You can edit them at any time by signing in.

How does ANLC use my information for marketing?

Unless you opted out when registering or purchasing, or we asked for your consent and you did not give it, ANLC may email, call or text you about our products and services, and may occasionally send you direct mail. These messages may be tailored to you based on what we know about you and your company, such as your profile, your searches and browsing on our website, and your purchases.

If you no longer want to hear from us, at any time you can:
  • Update your preferences in My Account; or
  • Unsubscribe using the link in any of our emails.

You may also see ANLC ads on other websites and social media platforms. These may be tailored to you using cookies that let us show ads to people who have visited our website. In some cases this involves sharing your email address with the social media platform. If you no longer want tailored ads, change the cookie and privacy settings in your browser and on those websites.

How can I access, update, correct or delete my information?

You can view and edit your profile at any time in My Account. If you have trouble accessing your account, call us on 0404 497 266.

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You can also ask us to delete it or to stop using it for certain purposes. We will respond in line with the law, although in some circumstances we may not be able to comply, for example where we must keep records for legal reasons.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect anything we did with your consent before you withdrew it, and we may have other lawful reasons to keep using some of your information.

Cookies

ANLC uses cookies and similar technologies to make our website work, to improve it and to personalise it for you. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block them, some parts of the website may not work properly.
